MILTON — The Milton Rotary Club recently welcomed Tammy Ward with the Better Business Bureau to talk about the organization’s mission and some of the top scams going around today.

The BBB was founded in 1912. There are over 100 BBBs in the United States, Canada and Mexico and the local office serves 14 counties.

The BBB provides business profiles, customer reviews, Wise Giving Reports, dispute resolution and other services.

Of the top 10 scams in 2017, the phishing scam — soliciting people to obtain sensitive information — was the most reported; the tax collection scam — suggesting someone owes back taxes to the IRS or did not appear for jury duty — ranks second.

For more information, find the BBB on Facebook, the web or call 429-0002.
