Gordon Grail of Panama City Beach has this to say about a previous letter to the editor author: “So, rife with inaccuracies false claims and racist dog whistles, Mr. Meadows attempts to rewrite history in Great Leader’s own image and in his own words.”

Reading the Letters to the Editor often gives one imponderables to consider and it was no different when I perused the piece from a Mr. Meadows in Parker in the June 5, 2020 News Herald titled, “Obama’s misdeeds see the light of day.” One rarely sees something written in a mainstream press outlet that is so obviously constructed to mirror the author's animus rather than inform.

Mr. Meadows starts out by stating the charges against disgraced, self-admitted, and confessed prevaricator, former NSA adviser Michael Flynn, were “artificial.” They were not. Guilty by his own admission and then sprung by AG Barr, Mr. Trump’s own Roy Cohn. Those are the facts not the fantasy behind Flynn’s fiasco.

The author then slides into full-blown TSPM (Trump Sheeple Protection Mode) a known strategy of those who bathe themselves in all things Trump all the time whether it is honest to do so or not, and does the deranged right-wing two-step and switches, without missing a beat, to the tried and true TSPM tactic of it’s Obama’s fault. It is so very predictable.

If that were not enough praise for Trump, Mr. Meadows clears the last hurdle by trumpeting (pun intended) that clarion call of infidels to truth everywhere that former President Barack Obama created ISIS. Doubletake, eyes rolling, and slow shaking of the head in disbelief at that bit of sheer ignorant revisionist fake news. Even Trump said he was being sarcastic when he mouthed that gem of a lie.

If one were to attempt to recreate the genesis of ISIS, ISIL, Daesh, look to Jordanian Abu Musab al-Zarqawi who put Al Qaeda together in Iraq and morphed into ISIS after the U.S. invaded Iraq in 2003.

So, rife with inaccuracies false claims and racist dog whistles, Mr. Meadows attempts to rewrite history in Great Leader’s own image and in his own words. While Mr. Meadows is entitled to his own opinions he is not entitled to his own facts. As John Adams is quoted saying “"Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence." Great Leader notwithstanding, of course, if you are afflicted with TSPM.
