NAVARRE — The driver has been identified in a fiery Monday morning crash that caused the destruction of four RVs and two boats at a storage facility.

Xavier Aguiar, 29, of Navarre, was driving south on Avenida De Sol in a 2020 BMW 430I about 4 a.m., when he failed to stop at the 4th Street intersection, according to a release from Florida Highway Patrol.

Aguiar traveled south on the grass shoulder and into the wooded area south of the road. He exited the wooded area through a wooden fence and into the property of Navarre RV and Boat Storage, the release said.

He then collided into the rear of a Thor RV causing a fire to ignite in the engine compartment and engulfing both vehicles in flames.

The fire spread to three other RVs and two boats. All vehicles and private property involved in the crash were destroyed by the fire.

He was not being pursued by law enforcement at the time of the crash, FHP said.

Aguiar was taken to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center in serious condition, suffering from burns and smoke inhalation, according to Holly Navarre Fire District personnel who responded to the fire.
