According to the Florida Highway Patrol, one driver failed to notice a red light and turned into the path of the other.

GULF BREEZE — Two people were seriously injured in a collision on U.S. Highway 98 on June 12.
The accident involved an 18-year-old Panama City woman and a 66-year-old Gulf Breeze woman, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
The Gulf Breeze driver was traveling north on Nantahala Beach Road and was negotiating a left-turn onto Highway 98, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. A vehicle driven by the Panama City woman was traveling in the east bound lane of Highway 98 and failed to observe a red traffic signal, resulting in the front of the Gulf Breeze woman’s vehicle to collide with the left side of the Panama City woman’s vehicle.
The Gulf Breeze woman was trapped in her car and had to be extricated by first responders.
Both drivers were listed in serious condition at a local hospital.
