NAVARRE — Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a reported stabbing Thursday in the 7500 block of Blackjack Circle in Navarre, according to a short press release from the Sheriff’s Office.


They discovered a male subject on scene had sustained a stab wound to the abdomen. According to the victim, he and his live-in girlfriend had been arguing when she stabbed him with a kitchen knife, the release said.


As the victim attempted to get away from the suspect, he also sustained a cut on the back of his arm.


The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. His wounds are not believed to be life-threatening.


The suspect, Cara Lynn Owens who is 54, has been charged with aggravated battery domestic violence.
