GULF BREEZE — A 43-year-old Milton woman was arrested Sunday morning after allegedly allowing a juvenile who is about 12 years old to drive the woman’s vehicle.

The incident occurred shortly after midnight Sunday on U.S. Highway 98 in Gulf Breeze.

A Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office deputy was on routine patrol when he observed a GMC Terrain swerving while traveling westbound on the highway.

“The deputy conducted a traffic stop and discovered the driver was not only unlicensed but approximately 12 years of age,” officials said in a news release. “The adult parent was in the passenger seat and there were two other juveniles seated in the back of the vehicle."

After investigating the incident, the adult passenger, Francisca Darla Saria, who was responsible for the juveniles, was arrested.

Francisca was charged with permitting an unauthorized minor to drive, child neglect and having an expired registration and no proof of insurance. Officials said the deputy could smell alcohol on Francisca's breath when he was speaking with her.

Bond was set at $23,000.
