Multiple agencies will participate in an emergency scenario on Highway 90 at the Shoal River bridge Thursday morning.
CRESTVIEW —Multiple city and county agencies will participate in emergency training on Thursday morning.
Okaloosa County Corrections and Emergency Medical Services have teamed up with the Florida Department of Corrections (OCDOC), the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, Crestview Police Department, the Military, North Okaloosa Medical Center and Northwest Florida State College to run an emergency scenario. The scenario features an OCDOC inmate transport crashing with injuries and an escaped inmate.
The training will be held where Highway 90 crosses over the Shoal River in Crestview, beginning at 7 a.m.
“The County is excited to join the North Okaloosa Medical Center and local emergency response agencies to better train our first responders in caring for our citizens,” said Commissioner Graham Fountain, public safety liaison for the Board of County Commissioners.
While the scenario is for training purposes, the county asks that residents drive with extreme caution, so as to ensure the safety of the participants.
