The Emerald Coast Women's Club has donated more than $250,000 to charitable causes since forming in 1995.

NAVARRE — Emerald Coast Women's Club in Navarre will soon be celebrating its 25th year.

The club was formed in 1995 to provide a social outlet for ladies of the community and to support local charities.

Since its inception, the club has donated more than $260,000 to local charities and students in the form of scholarships, according to a press release from the club.

The club was formed exclusively for social, charitable and civic causes, including scholarships. It also provides an atmosphere of friendliness, goodwill and helpful information for club members and helps women become acquainted with other women in their community.

The club's next meeting will be held on Thursday, Sept. 5, at the Club at Hidden Creek. at 11:30 a.m. Cost of the luncheon is $17. Reservations can be made by calling Pat Oberholtzer at 939-7678 by 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29.

The speaker will be Martha Hearn from the Medicare Elder Program, who will talk to the members about Medicare scams.
