NAVARRE BEACH — About 50 officials and supporters gathered Tuesday for a ribbon cutting at the Navarre Beach Marine Park to celebrate the completion of $1.96 million in new pavilions and other improvements.

Three new ADA-friendly pavilions, restroom facilities with showers, 200 parking spaces and a covered bird-viewing station were unveiled on the Gulf side of the park.

The improvements are the last of two beach-enhancement projects.

Genesis Halff was the consultant for the job and RBM Contracting Services was the contractor.

The project was funded with money from the Deepwater Horizon NRDA Early Restoration Program Phase III and $493,935 in matching funds from Santa Rosa County's tourism tax reserves.
