GULF BREEZE — A four-car accident stopped traffic on the Bob Sikes Bridge on Saturday afternoon, lawmen say.
A 2005 Ford F-150 pickup driven by 54-year-old Anselmo Barrechis-Lefebre of Pensacola was crossing the bridge and failed to slow for stopped traffic, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
His vehicle smashed into the back of a 2015 Volkswagen Jetta being driven by a 28-year-old Pensacola man. He and his passenger, a 26-year-old Pensacola man, suffered minor injuries.
The force of the impact drove the Jetta into a 2008 Ford Escape occupied by a group of people from Metairie, Louisiana. The driver suffered no injuries, but the passengers, including an 11-year-old and 5-year-old, experienced minor injuries.
Their SUV was knocked into a 2013 Buick Verrano driven by a 19-year-old Pensacola man, who was not injured, according to the accident report.
Barreshis-Lefebre was charged with careless driving.
Alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
