BAKER — A man has been arrested in connection with a traffic crash on New Year's Day that injured a woman after her vehicle was struck from behind on U.S. Highway 90.

According to a social media post from the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, the victim told deputies she was on U.S. Highway 90 east of Holt where the speed limit is 55 miles per hour when she was struck from behind by an unknown vehicle. The woman suffered significant injuries, the Sheriff's Office said.

Witnesses told the Sheriff's Office they watched Terry Langford, 31, leave The Cave in Holt that morning, and he passed them traveling at high speed on Highway 90.

Deputies later found Langford’s vehicle at his home with damage to its grill and front bumper area. A roommate says Langford had told him he was unsure what he hit but was checking media outlets as he feared he may have killed someone, the social media post said.

Langford told deputies he was at The Cave but denies being involved in the crash, stating his girlfriend was driving his vehicle and hit a deer, the Sheriff's Office said.

Langford was charged with hit and run involving bodily injury and reckless driving with personal injury.
