Join the Fort Walton Beach JROTC this morning from 7:30-10 a.m. today at the Magnolia Grill in historic downtown Fort Walton Beach for a fundraising pancake breakfast.
A suggested minimum $7-per-person donation is accepted, although more is appreciated.
Magnolia Grill owners, Tom and Peggy Rice, host pancake fundraisers throughout the school year.
St. Mary School hosts its 10 annual Frosty 5K this morning.
At 4 p.m. Sunday, the U.S. Air Force Jazz Band, Dimensions in Blue, will perform a free concert in the Choctawhatchee High School auditorium. Seating is limited, so tickets can be guaranteed through reservations via the Choctawhatchee Style Marchers Facebook page or the USAF Band of the West Facebook page.
At today's concert, the Okaloosa All-County Honor Band will bring together the area’s best young orchestra musicians at the Mattie Kelly Arts Performing Center, Northwest Florida State College, Niceville campus. The show is free and open to the public, beginning at 2 p.m.
Guest directors include Mike Mitchell, director of bands at DeSana Middle School in Forsyth County, Georgia, and Jay Watkins, associate director of bands and director of athletic bands at the University of Florida.
Several Ruckel Middle School band students auditioned and were selected for the honor band. They are directed by Teri Bruse.

In addition to the all-county honor, euphonium musician Alex Nacchia performed at the all-state middle school band program earlier this month.
