MILTON — The Burger King at 6682 U.S. Highway 90 was closed Friday after inspectors saw employees walking through sewage and wastewater covering the kitchen floor.

The wastewater and sewage was backing up through floor drains, according to a report from the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation. It was also coming out of a three-compartment sink, the report said.

In addition to that high-priority violation, there were two repeated basic violations. Inspectors saw a hole in the wall next to the walk-in cooler that revealed the outside bricks of the building, and there was a 15-second delay before water would come out of the bathroom faucets, according to the report.

Inspectors returned Saturday and only the faucet issue remained unaddressed.

The report was unclear whether the Burger King was allowed to reopen.
