HOLT — Five teenage males who fled from law-enforcement officers after the stolen car they were in broke down on Interstate 10 now face charges of grand theft and resisting arrest without violence.

The suspects range in age from 13 to 16.

Shortly after 3 a.m. this morning, an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputy spotted a 1997 Nissan sedan that turned out to be stolen out of Santa Rosa County parked near Mile Marker 47 in Holt with five individuals standing next to it.

When the deputy activated his lights, all of the suspects ran into nearby woods. Sheriff's Office K9 units and other deputies ultimately helped track down the individuals.

The suspects are a 16-year-old from Milton, a 14-year-old from Bagdad and three boys from Pensacola, ages 13, 14 and 15, respectively.

The 14-year-old from Bagdad also was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and providing a false name.
