GULF BREEZE — Two Santa Rosa County students were taken to the hospital with minor injuries after a Friday morning crash involving a school bus.
At 6:27 a.m., a Chevy Silverado driven by Brian Neal Day Jr., 19, of Pensacola, was driving east on County Road 399 just east of Zilla Street. A Santa Rosa County school bus driven by Betty Ann Rader, 53, of Gulf Breeze, was driving west.
As Day approached the school bus, he crossed the center line into the lane of the bus. The driver’s side of the Silverado sideswiped the driver’s side of the school bus.
The school bus was carrying 29 students. Two students were taken to Gulf Breeze Hospital for minor injuries.
Day was charged with failure to maintain a single lane.
