The Poarch Creek Indian Community Scholarship fund, available through The Community Foundation of South Alabama, annually awards a minimum of one scholarship to a male and one scholarship to a female residing in Alabama or the panhandle of Florida.
The Poarch Creek Indians established the scholarship with a goal of helping to provide a quality education — and a better quality of life — to students across the region.
Recipients must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA and be a resident of Alabama or one of the following counties in Florida: Escambia, Gadsden, Holmes, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, Walton and Washington.
In addition to academic merit, applicants should be able to demonstrate community involvement. Other factors, such as financial need and workforce demand, will also be considered when reviewing applications.
Scholarship applications are due by 11:59 p.m. March 22. To access the online application, visit https://communityfoundationsa.org/apply-for-a-scholarship/.
