MILTON — These library events are scheduled throughout Santa Rosa County.
HOLIDAY CLOSURES: The library system will be closed Monday, Jan. 1 in observance of New Year's Day and Monday, Jan. 15 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
WINTER BREAK FAMILY MOVIES: Jan. 2 and 5, 2 p.m. The Milton Library will host two movies during winter break. On Jan. 2, enjoy the third movie about Lightning McQueen (rated G). On Jan. 5, watch Diana Prince fight the god of war (rated PG-13). The Friends of the Milton Library will provide refreshments.
PRESCHOOL STORYTIME: These programs are presented for preschool children ages 3 through 5 and include stories, finger plays and action rhymes. Caregivers must remain in the library during storytime; however, they cannot accompany children into the programs. Programs start promptly at the assigned times; latecomers are not admitted.

GAME NIGHT: 3-6 p.m. Jan. 16 at the Jay Library, 5259 Booker Lane. Enjoy playing games? Bring games from home or play those provided by the library. All ages and game groups are welcome.
TODDLER TIME: This program is for children ages 18 to 36 months who attend with a caregiver. One child and one adult register together for songs, stories, rhymes and other activities. The 20-minute program lasts six weeks.

Toddler Time requires registration at the Navarre Library or Pace Library. Space is limited, and it is not a drop-in program.

EARLY LEARNING COALITION STORYTIME: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Jan. 20 at the Milton Library, 5541 Alabama St. In honor of Celebrate Literacy Week, the Early Learning Coalition of Santa Rosa County will offer storytime with Mother Goose. Parents can visit the parent education booth for early-literacy strategies. ‘BIRDS OVERWINTERING’ PRESENTATION: 10 a.m. Jan. 20, Pace Library, 4750 Pace Patriot Blvd. The Azalea Garden Club of Pace will present this program for youths in kindergarten through eighth grade. Learn about birds that spend the winter in our area, and create a bird feeder with a pinecone and peanut butter! Supplies will be provided. Space is limited; visit the Pace Library to register.

The University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences presents a monthly series on a variety of topics including agriculture, the environment, sustainable living, disaster preparation and recovery, 4-H youth development, family and consumer issues, and lawn and garden problems. This month’s presentation is "Butterflies and Butterfly Gardening" with Louise Biernesser and Annie McIlhenny, Florida Master Gardeners.
