NAVARRE - A Mexican restaurant in Navarre was closed Oct. 5 and reopened the next day after inspectors found evidence of rodents in the kitchen.

Five soft rodent droppings were discovered on top of the to-go cups in the kitchen. Another 50 hard droppings were found under the storage shelf, according to the inspection report from the Department of Business and Professional Regulation.

The restaurant, Los Cabos Mexican Grill, is at 9500 Navarre Parkway in Navarre.

The rodent droppings were the only high priority violation discovered during the routine inspection.

There was an accumulation of black/green mold-like substance in the ice machine and the ice bin, the report said.

Basic violations included a dirty cutting board, dead roaches in the premises – including one in the kitchen – and a hole in the ceiling.

When inspectors returned the next day, all violations had been corrected.
