NAVARRE — A Mississippi man who struck several objects in a convenience store parking lot before fleeing faces multiple felony charges.

Robert Shane Moore, a 33-year-old from Cleveland, Mississippi, has been charged with careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, driving without a license or insurance, dealing in stolen property, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

Moore struck several items in the 6 a.m. crash at the store on U.S. Highway 98. He fled, but was stopped by a Florida Highway Patrol trooper, according to an FHP media release.

He admitted causing the crash and allowed his vehicle to be searched.

During the search, troopers found more $165 worth of Tasty Kakes and Honey Buns, the release said. They also found several pieces of personal mail with credit cards and checks.

There were two bags of methamphetamine, one Xanax bar and one syringe.

The Santa Rosa Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Postal Service are conducting their own investigations, the release said.
