Fares announced as low as $69 and a free flight giveaway for local travelers

Allegiant has announced its first route between Las Vegas and Destin/Fort Walton Beach beginning Oct. 7. In conjunction with the new route that will launch just in time for the holiday travel season, the company is celebrating with a “Christmas in July” Facebook sweepstakes to give away seats on the route’s inaugural flight. Allegiant is offering one-way fares on the route for as low as $69.

“We are very excited to announce our first route connecting Las Vegas with Florida,” said Jude Bricker, Allegiant chief operating officer. “This new route will give travelers in both the Panhandle of Florida and Las Vegas their only nonstop, ultra-low cost option to visit the Entertainment Capital of the World and Florida’s Emerald Coast.”

The new year-round route will operate twice weekly and expand on the new service Allegiant currently operates to Destin-Fort Walton Beach Airport (VPS). With this new route, Allegiant will now operate 7 routes to Destin/Fort Walton Beach. These new flights will bring more than 17,000 additional visitors each year to the Panhandle. Flight days, times and fares can be found at Allegiant.com.

Additionally, Allegiant launches its “Christmas in July” sweepstakes to provide 12 lucky winners with seats on the inaugural flight from Destin to Las Vegas for themselves and a guest. Local travelers who would like to enter to win can do so on Allegiant’s Facebook page at Facebook.com/Allegiant. The “Christmas in July” sweepstakes is part of Allegiant’s ongoing $1 Million Summer, a promotion in which the company is giving away $1 million in airfare throughout the summer. “We are very excited to have a direct connection to Las Vegas starting in October. As well, folks from Nevada can now fly direct to Destin-Fort Walton Beach. Destin beaches ranked No. 1 on the ‘Best Florida Beaches’ list by U.S. News & World Report,” said Tracy Stage, airports director, Okaloosa County Airports.
