NAVARRE — Northwest Florida resident and author, N.M. Davis Jr.. this month released his first children’s poetry book, “Poems of Value.” The book aims to offer a fun, time-honored way to instill good character values in children.
“Poems of Value” is comprised of 30 poems, created by Davis, that are catchy, meaningful and easy to recall. The lessons contained in each poem were designed to help provide a positive perspective for children across the diverse spectrum of life, most especially when life demands tough choices and a value-based decision requiring empathy, compassion, integrity or honesty.
Inspired by his passion to empower others to, “Always be becoming,” Davis seeks to help every child build strength, self-confidence and resiliency by inspiring them with easy-to-recall poems of value.
The poems are designed to become an additional part of a firm foundation already provided by the principles and values that help build strong, self-confident minds and hearts.
Davis has always had a penchant for creativity through writing and speaking. From an early age, he recalls several poems he read that helped form the fundamental values he cherishes to this day and that created his love for reading, writing and his passion for helping others.
To bring the book to publication, Davis collaborated with several individuals and charitable organizations.
The book cover illustration is an original design by Northwest Florida resident Kelly Phillipson, who was inspired to create an image that conveyed the true spirit and intent of the book. Each poem is accompanied by a unique, hand-drawn illustration created by children from the Northwest Florida Big Brothers Big Sisters Organization, family and friends, who all volunteered to be a part of this special book.
Those who have had a preliminary look at “Poems of Value” recommend it for preschool and school-age children. Davis recommends reading one poem per night with your child for an entire month to lay the foundation for in-depth discussions.
“Poems of Value” is available on Amazon for $13.
Davis publishes under his own brand, Amended Mindz, LLC. He is also the creator and chief contributor to Amended Mindz (https://amendedmindz.wixsite.com/website) a periodic personal development blog.
He is working on several other projects, including the creation of a nonprofit organization, mentoring/coaching, inspirational speaking, and personal development books.
