This is Mary, a concerned senior citizen. I would like to say that it takes years for water dropping over a rock to finally wash away part of that rock, but the haters of freedom of religion, freedom to bear arms, freedom to have militia and freedom to life, all of these have been going on now for some years and they’re getting worse. They seemed to be speeded up now because they’re gaining a little bit of liberty and you know it’s time for believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and freedom in the United States that love America, it’s time for them to wake up, stand up, and speak out before it’s too late. Thank you.
Good afternoon, this is Harold, a retired military, 30 years active duty. I would like to commend Fire Chief Reble for his well thought out article in the August 26 paper. I am 85 years old and lived through the Depression and the Jim Crow years in the south. I would like to remind both the black and the white community that this is my heritage and does not mean hate in my eyes. Quit trying to tear down what is the south’s heritage, and that includes blacks and whites. If it offends you, don’t look, and find something else to complain about. Thank you.
Hi, this is Mark. The Confederate flag represents many things including those who protected their land, but also slavery where horrible things are done to women, children, and men. As such it does not deserve to fly and be part of the Santa RosaCounty system in any way.
This is Bobby. I read Aaron Little’s column about the bus and would we want to do our own water and garbage. Well he needs to get out and look around a little bit. If you go to the dump you’ll see lines of cars and that’s people taking their garbage to the dump. And some of us do have our own water wells. He’s probably thinking from being out in the desert in Arizona I guess you don’t dig your own that often, but there are a lot of them out here that do. Thank you.
This is Charles. I was calling in response to a post a couple weeks ago. I think it was a concerned senior citizen. They made some comment about Obama looking in the mirror. “Who’s the fairest of them all?” Surely that was an elementary or a juvenile concerned citizen. I can’t imagine that being a senior. Thanks, bye.
It’s interesting, isn’t it how Jimmy Messick can sit there being all pious and defend a flag that never flew over our fair city but yet wants to destroy a building that’s well over 100 years old. How does that make any sense? I guess if you think you’re better than everybody it makes perfect sense.
This is Brandy, a concerned parent of a cheerleader through the recreational facility at MiltonCommunity Center. There have been several requests made by parents for pest control issues about ants and wasps. Also, there’s rusty equipment and piles of wood that are accessible to children. Children have also been seen climbing on these piles of wood and equipment. We have gone to the community center representative Johnny Norton and we have also gone to Mayor Wesley Meiss with no correction of these issues.
This is Tony the Critic considering the woman that was put in jail for her Christian faith and not issuing marriage certificates. I think it’s a matter of job performance and if you cannot perform your job duties you should be either fired or find another job that suits you. If I did not perform my job duties I would be fired. Thanks.
Yes, I’d like to comment on the fire assessment charge Chief Reble was thinking about. He needs to drive up around the city limits of Milton and look at all the vacant commercial property. I’m a business owner myself and every time you turn around the city’s trying to put more and more rules on you. They try to encourage businesses to move in and then they won’t leave you alone. I don’t think they need any more money. If they’ll stay away from the restaurants three times a day with that diesel fuel idling through them engines and everything for two or three hours at a time and everything they won’t need a fuel assessment. They need to stay at the fire house and do some work instead of sitting at the restaurants all day. Thank you very much. Bye.
Yeah, this is Chuck. I read a comment about the bridge in East Milton. I think it’s a pretty good looking bridge and it probably did cost $4.5 million and I kind of like that they made it look old. Now, when you’re talking about the four lane through Milton it’s pretty obvious the best choice is the one they showed where they build another bridge that goes to the north of the bridge that’s there and lines up with Berryhill. I guess some people, especially our elderly folks, would have to get used to Berryhill and Caroline Street being a one-way for a couple blocks instead of being a two-way. I think that’s the best idea. You don’t need to keep having all these meetings and discussions about which one to do. Pick the right one already and go with it.
