Milton is preparing for some rather interesting visitors from its past this Friday and Saturday.
The 13th Annual Ghosts of Milton Walking Tour will bring the past to life as it details Santa Rosa's colorful past by meeting some of its famous as well as infamous citizens.
Some of these spirits will depict tales of woe or foolishness, but all of Milton's ghosts return each year to relive the past, albeit good or bad.
During the one-mile walk through downtown Milton, those who go on the tour will visit 13 stops throughout Milton's Historic downtown.
Depicting those from Milton's past will be live actors from Milton today.
This year marks the 150th anniversary of the American Civil War.
In keeping with the Confederacy's history locally, this year's walk is themed "The Wrath of Confederate Colonel William K. Beard."
Historical society members will attempt to portray the county's involvement in the war with an added emphasis of the CSA's 1662 scorched earth policy.
This year also marks the 50th anniversary of the 1962 tornado that ripped through Milton and claimed 17 lives.
During this stop the scene will feature a slideshow of never before seen photographs of the tornado's aftermath.
