Milton City Councilman Wesley Meiss is hosting a community workshop at 6 p.m., Thursday, May 8 at City Hall, located at 6738 Dixon Street. The purpose of the meeting is to gather public input for redevelopment and infrastructure improvements for Milton’s Historic District.
Meiss, a Ward 1 representative on the council, says information and ideas gathered from the workshop will be reported to the city council and downtown redevelopment advisory board (DRAB).
“Business owners and residents of the City of Milton find it difficult to attend city meetings such as the DRAB because such meetings are held at times that are inconvenient for the common working citizen,” stated Meiss.
"These workshops will be a positive experience for local citizens where discussion and collaboration will be encouraged," said Meiss, adding, “If all goes well with this first meeting, I plan on hosting one each month to address a different theme.”
Weiss says potential themes include city beatification projects, parks/facilities upgrades, road/infrastructure improvements, public events/quality of life, city services and question/answer sessions with city officials.
