8 faculty sent to local hospitals for tests
Santa Rosa County officals report around 9:30 a.m. this morning Milton Fire Department received a call from T.R. Jackson School, 4950 Susan Street, Milton, saying teachers located in a separate building conducting a book fair complained of burning eyes and difficulty breathing. Reports said the faculty were only in the building for an hour. Although Milton Fire Department found no obvious traces of any irritants, Naval Air Station Whiting Field Fire Department is on their way to conduct tests. They are bringing hazmat equipment.
Two faculty members were sent to Santa Rosa Medical Center and three to Sacred Heart. All were in stable condition. No children were inside the building. Santa Rosa County School Board has contacted parents via telephone call out system.
