12th Annual Jay Pro Rodeo
The 12th Annual Jay Pro Rodeo, sponsored by RAM, will be held at 8 p.m. on April 25 and 26 at Ted May Arena in Jay. The 3R Rodeo Company will entertain the crowd with rodeo action including pro bull riding, saddle broncing, calf and team roping, steer wrestling, and women’s breakaway and barrel racing. For the little ones, there’s the calf scramble, free bouncy area, and more. Be sure to bring you appetite because there will be plenty of food at the concession stand. Admission is just $10 for adults and $5 for children twelve and under. All proceeds benefit area youth programs through the Jay High School Student Government Association and the Ted May Arena. SRCSchoolBoard meeting time change
The Santa Rosa District School Board’s April meeting will start at 5:00 p.m. rather than the normal 6:30 p.m. start time on Thursday, April 24. The meeting is to take place at the main School Board Administrative Building located at 5086 Canal St. in Milton.
Milton Garden Club meeting
Milton Garden Club will have their monthly meeting this coming Thursday (April 10) at 9:30 a.m. at Milton Garden Center, 5256 Alabama Street. Our speaker will be Sandra Sherman with subject Camellias. April 16 at 11 a.m., Santa Rosa county extension agent Mary Derrick will be talking about mulches. Now that everyone has their new plants from the sale, mulching will help protect them from drying out and weeds. This program is free and open to the public. Coffee will be served. Books Are Fun! Book Fair
On Wednesday, April 16th, from 9 a.m. -3 p.m., the Pensacola State College Library will hold a Books Are Fun! Book Fair at the PSC Student Center (Bldg. 4200). Books, gifts, toys and educational items will be available for purchase at 30%-70% retail. Funds raised at the Book Fair will be used to buy technology enhancements for student use in the library.
WestFlorida Community Care Center
West Florida Community Care Center Board meeting will be held Thursday, April 24 and located at 5500 Stewart Street, Milton. The full board will convene at 9:30 a.m. in the Treatment Team room. Milton/Pace Relay for Life Event
The 2014 Relay for Life will be held on the grounds of the Milton Pensacola State College Track on April 25-26. The American Cancer Society is very active in Santa Rosa County and this event provides assistance to help fight the fight.
