UWF Business Enterprises Inc. Board of Directors Meeting: Friday, Aug. 23, 8 to 11:30 a.m., Scenic Hills Country Club. The UWF Business Enterprises, Inc. Fall 2013 Convocation: Friday, Aug. 23, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., UWF Field House. Fall 2013 Convocation will be held from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the UWF Field House. The ceremony traditionally marks the official beginning of a new academic year, and serves to induct first-year students into the community of learners at UWF.
Argo Arrival: Wet n’ Wild: Saturday, Aug. 24, 6 to 10 p.m., UWF Cannon Green. The Campus Activities Board, Student Government Association and UWF Athletics Department are hosting an outdoor party to celebrate the start of a new year. Argo Arrival: Beach Bash: Sunday, Aug. 25, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Park West Pensacola Beach. UWF students are invited to come out to Park West on Pensacola Beach for music, free food, paddle boarding, sailing, volleyball, beach games and more. This is a non-alcoholic event. Argo Arrival: Cultural Explosion: Wednesday, Aug. 28, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., University Commons. Join UWF’s Office of Diversity and International Education and Programs for the eighth annual Cultural Explosion. Rock Out the Redzone: Friday, Aug. 30, 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., University Commons. The Campus Activity Board, Wellness Services, and Housing & Residence Life invite you to the fourth annual Rock Out the RedZone concert. The concert features Lion’s Ambition, a Seattle-based rock group that blends genres and captivates the audience, and DJ will keep the event live from start to finish. The event also aims to increase awareness of the RedZone; the time between the beginning of the fall semester and Thanksgiving break where students are more at risk for experiencing sexual assault. Rock the free food, rock the prizes, rock the concert, and Rock Out the RedZone!
