Twelve wrestlers from SRC to wrestle in regional meet

Tallahassee will host 12 of Santa Rosa’s best wrestlers in this weekend’s 2A Regional meet with a berth to the state finals on the line for the top four finishers.

Seven Milton wrestlers earned the honor to move on at this weekend’s district tournament hosted by Niceville with two taking district titles.

Cory Menefee took the top spot at 145 pounds while teammate Ben Willard took the district title at 130 pounds.

Tyler Bellow came close to making it three Panther title holders but lost in the finals of the 215 pound division to finish second.

Finishing third for the Panthers were John Kahler at 152 pounds as well as Chris Hicks at 160.

Brandon Skinner (114), and Stephen McDonal (171) both finished fourth.

Pace had five members of its very young team qualify, but attempts to get the list of wrestlers was not successful by press time.
