Milton stops Indians on road
Milton made very short work of Choctaw Wednesday night in Okaloosa County as they pounded out 16 hits against the host Indians.
The Lady Panthers (8-4) rode the results of those 16 hits to a 13-5 win as Katie Worley hit her second home run of the season while she finished the night going 4-for-5 with 5 RBI’s.
Milton took a 2-0 lead in the top half of the first inning and was up 8-0 by the end of the top half of the third before Choctaw ever crossed home plate as starter Alyssa Larson scattered eight hits and struck out eight as she went the distance in the circle.
Larson is now 4-3 on the season.
Also contributing to the Lady Panther hitting barrage were Lena Land, who went 3-for-4, Larson who went 2-for-5, Mikey Drinkard who went 2-for-3, and Tiffany Boisvert who finished the night going 2-for-2 with a pair of RBI’s.
Tuesday night the Lady Panthers did not fall prey to the Lady Royals in Jay as they posted a 6-1 win.
Milton was ahead 5-0 before the Lady Royals could get on the board in the second inning, which happened to be the only run they managed against Larson.
That run was a solo shot off the bat of Becca Calloway.
Worley also homered to help the Panthers with a three-run shot while Land went 3-for-4 with two RBI’s and Boisvert went 2-for-3 in the win.
Alicia Ashworth surrendered 12 hits in the loss to Milton.
In baseball it was Jay who swept its games against PCA in a district affair and Gulf Breeze.
Wednesday the Royals romped past Pensacola Christian 18-4 amid the rain Tuesday in a five inning affair.
Peyden Roberts surrendered two hits in the win as PCA rallied for four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Roberts stuck out six and walked two, while the Royals touched opposing pitching for 14 hits while capitalizing on six errors.
Monday night the Royals dusted the Gulf Breeze Dolphins at home 3-2.
Rush Hendricks scattered five hits over seven innings for the win while striking out six.
Gulf Breeze jumped out to a 2-0 lead by the end of two innings before the Royals came to life with three runs of their own in the bottom half of the third innings.
Hendricks helped his cause by going 3-for-3 at the plate while Dakota Smith and Hunter Boutwell both went 2-for-3.
In tennis Milton dropped a rain shortened affair at Pine Forest in girls play 3-1.
