Rowdy Busch almost loses his race helmet

Kyle Busch does not consider himself a superstitious person, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t cherish particular items.

After Friday’s AAA Insurance 200 at Dover, Busch’s helmet was stolen from the No. 18 hauler.

Apparently the culprit snuck into the garage with the cleanup crew, opened the hauler doors, dumped beer and ice inside and then took off with the headgear, according to Busch.

Track officials were notified and caught the thief as the helmet was returned.

The reason Busch used this helmet in particular, which he wore in winning the first of four Sprint Cup Series races this season in Atlanta, was because Busch did not have an orange helmet painted to match the Combos colors adorning the No. 18 Toyota Camry he took to victory lane.
