Robert Moser's Framery can quickly turn any kind of ordinary object into a priceless treasure

    Business Review

What did the portrait say to the mural?

    "I've been framed!"

"How wonderful," replied the mural with a sigh.. "You're so fortunate to have had your case handled by Robert Moser's Framery. Not everyone has been as lucky as you!"

It is indeed an honor and a pleasure to any object of art or any item of keepsake for that matter to be matted, framed, or shadowboxed by the expert and experienced hands at Robert Moser's Framery located at the Pea Ridge Flea Market on Highway 90 in Pea Ridge.

There's no end to the testimonials of satisfied customers who have had Robert Moser take the special care that he always does to custom frame their valuables, whether they were photos, portraits, military medals, all kinds of diplomas and certificates, or even a special flag mounted in a 5 foot by 6 foot frame.

"We love what we do," Robert said recently, explaining the background of his business and its various aspects that make it stand head and shoulders above most area framing stores. "And I believe the special care we put into our work shows in everything that we undertake."

How and where the business developed are as interesting as the expertise that's invested in each and every item that Robert Moser's Framery services. He explained that what started out originally as a hobby for himself in a single booth in the Pea Ridge Flea Market six years ago steadily gained momentum, and today it is a full-time business with three employees in addition to Robert and his wife Cheryl.

After retiring from the Navy with 30 years of service, Robert said he began looking for something to do while his wife was busy with her own career at Elizabeth Arden Cosmetics. He vividly remembers that original 10 foot x 12 foot booth in the mall area of the flea market which has since grown to a total of 12 and a pickup area.

The growth and development in this area justified the need for a framery, and as the business grew he was able to enlarge with the assistance of his wife who had retired from the cosmetic business. Now as the business continues to thrive, the large work area and the implementation of new framery-related services, is a thriving showplace of work in progress!

The unlikely location in a flea market area has not hindered the businesses' growth one bit, Robert says. In fact, it has been a convenience. He's located in a very accessible area with plenty of parking in a relatively high-profiled commercial neighborhood. "It's easy for people to get in and out of, and as you know, that's one of the most important aspects of any business.

And as the demands of more sophisticated customer services increased, so has the challenge of meeting them, he said. But he and his employees are up to the task! They do most everything that's framery related, including matting under glass and shadowboxing.

The custom services they furnish have become more sophisticated to include framing more and more objects in a three dimensional settings.

"Some of the things we have framed are items like a bow and arrow, sports jerseys, china and bowls, and of course military medals which has always been one of our specialties," Robert said. And within the art community here, comes the need for much of the custom art framing services needed by artists and photographers in addition to household demands from decorators and those who want something done individually.

"We quite enjoy our customers and the many different things that they want framed," Robert said. "For instance, here are some examples: an Elvis Sports Coat, Freddie Kruger sweater and gloves, Rocky's boxing shorts and picture, and a complete set of Van Halen CD's."

And the customer is supreme at Robert Moser's Framery. "We feel we have the greatest customers in the world," Robert said. "We service customers not only here but as far away as New York, Texas, California, Alaska, and everywhere in between!"

In fact an autographed photograph of Loretta Lynn hangs in the delivery department that reminds Robert of their great customer service. A friend who had a gift for Loretta framed at Robert Moser's Framery so impress the country music star that she sent Robert the autographed picture of herself.

Today it hangs in a place of honor as a testimonial to the company's keen interest in making each and every item they handle special. And for that matter, Robert said a week or so ago that he was anticipating a visit from some of Loretta's relatives who had some art or photographs they wanted him to frame for them.

Robert says it's unfortunate that the area doesn't have a larger, more sophisticated art supplies outlet here, and in the near future he says he has plans to perhaps stock supplies that would be valuable to local artists and photographers who now have to go to Pensacola for many of their supplies.

Whatever a customer wants is generally the limit for what Robert Moser's Framery will supply in the area of framing. "We don't like to handle anything larger than a 5 ft. by 7 ft. piece of art," Robert said. "But we realize that many things like maps, aerial photos, and some canvases are quite large. So a rule of thumb is if you have a larger item to frame, consult him. There may be a way to accommodate the customer, "... and we will if we possibly can," Robert says.

Business hours at Robert Moser's Framery is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sundays. Robert and his staff take Mondays and Tuesdays off.

You'll enjoy the atmosphere at Robert Moser's Framery where it's just a tremendous treat to browse and see many of the finished art works they have fashioned with a flair that will most certainly impress you.

Take a look at the examples of framing they have, and if you have a question about how you should appropriately and attractively frame any object, whether it be creative art and photography or an item of clothing or an art object, Robert and his staff will be happy to talk with you about it and suggest ways that it could be framed elegantly and artistically ... within your means.

Robert, his wife Cheryl, and framers Jean Hawley, Todd Hamburg, and Michele Roe would love to meet you. Visit and see for yourself what a great group of guys and gals they are!
