Three people injured in two local accidents Wednesday
Two accidents Wednesday afternoon resulted in three individuals suffering serious injury.
Of the three sustaining serious injuries two of them were involved in a traffic mishap on East Spencer Field Road around 2:20 p.m. Wednesday.
According to Florida Highway Patrol Trooper H.S. Campbell, Tiffany McDonald, 27 of Cantonment, was south on East Spencer Field Road, while Emily L. Ates, 19, of Milton was traveling south behind McDonald’s van.
Riccardo Lotti, 21 of Pensacola, was traveling on East Spencer Field Road in the opposite direction.
Trooper Campbell reported that McDonald slowed behind a U.S. Postal Delivery truck traveling south, while Ates failed to stop.
After striking the van, Ates crossed into the northbound lane of East Spencer Field Road and hit Lotti’s SUV head-on.
Following the impact Ates’ car overturned in a ditch before coming to a final rest upright.
Life Guard Ambulance transported Ates and Lotti to Sacred Heart Hospital.
McDonald and her passenger did not report any injuries.
Ates was charged with careless driving.
In a separate non-related accident a Pace woman was seriously injured in a traffic mishap on Chumuckla Highway near Wallace Lake Road.
According to FHP Lt. J.T. Harris, Marisa Dawson, 19 of Pace, was stopped on Chumuckla Highway waiting to turn left onto Wallace Lake Road.
Kaitlin Roudabush, 21 of Pace, failed to observe Dawson and struck the Dawson vehicle in the left rear.
Roudabush then rotated clockwise into the path of Charles Nolan, 30 of Jay, who was headed south on Chumuckla Highway.
Nolan, who suffered minor injuries, struck Roudabush’s car in the left side.
Roudabush was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital and is listed in serious condition.
Charges in this accident are pending the completion of an investigation.
