Kornerstone Briefs - June 23, 2010

Pregnancy Resource Counselor Training

There will be an event that is going to be offered at the Pregnancy Resource Center for those who are currently involved as a volunteer and those who are interested in volunteering their time and talents

On July 10, there will be a Counselor Training that will be held from 9 to 5 at the PRC. The training will cover the basics of interacting with the client in the counseling room, understanding the post abortive client, and presenting adoption in a positive manner. Seasoned counselors and current volunteers will assist in and benefit from this training also as we learn from each other’s experiences and wisdom.

We have volunteer opportunities to participate in the ministry of our center such as teaching a Thursday night class or Bible study, counseling, rocking babies, organizing the Baby Store, doing office work, cleaning services, etc. Those attending the training class must have an approved volunteer application on file and RSVP by July 5. Please feel free to stop by on a Monday, Tuesday or Thursday between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to tour the Center, pick up an information packet with a Volunteer Application, meet the staff and current volunteers and ask questions. This will be a wonderful opportunity to learn what serving at the PRC and in our You Are Unique Program is all about.

Please join us and be a part of what God is doing at the Pregnancy Resource Center. Please call 983-2730 or email us info@prcofmilton.org with any questions.

First Assembly of God Fundraiser

First Assembly of God is fundraising with TNT Fireworks! When organizations think about raising funds for their projects, most turn to the ordinary like raffles or candy sales. This year, however, one local group will be raising funds in a more unique fashion. First Assembly of God will operate a Fireworks tent at the Wal-Mart off of Highway 90 in Pace, as a fundraiser for their organization from June 28 through July 4. Funds from this will allow First Assembly to raise money for their church. Everyone is invited to the tent for all their firework needs. TNT offers a NO Duds Guarantee and there will be several Buy One Get One Free items. Fireworks offered are legal in the state of Florida.
