Speak Out - July 28, 2010

Sunday, 6:14 p.m.

Politics and Deception seem to be synonymous terms.  As a voter it is imperative that you fully know who the candidate is, and what his or her qualifications really are.  On a recent visit to Pace, my wife and I noticed campaign signs for both Doug Broxson and Greg Brown.  The campaign signs are typical.  However, one thing was conspicuously absent from Greg Brown’s campaign sign.  He may have wanted to save room by eliminating the “Jr.” from his name … or maybe he just wanted to capitalize on his father’s fine reputation.  Quite honestly, I really don’t know. Certainly, the error of omission may have been an innocent oversight.  But, as a Florida voter, it is imperative that you know whom you are voting for.

Saturday, 3:33 p.m.

Hey, this is Barbara. I just had to call after reading the paper and let Ron know that is the dumbest thing I have heard of. You are saying we didn’t have hurricanes before the Memorial Day gatherings. I don’t go to the beach on Memorial Day or any time as a matter of fact. But I feel we need to worry about people on the road driving drunk. I think we need to start looking at ourselves before we start yelling something like that. Bye.

Thursday, 6:29 p.m.

This is John. What are you good old boys in Tallahassee going to do when you don’t have to worry anymore. With the cigarette tax and no unemployment checks I figure we will have a bunch of new faces in Tallahassee.

Thursday, 5:25 p.m.

People you had better be on the phone to call the dummies in Tallahassee and try to get them back in session. This state is going under. Those in Tallahassee are to stupid to accept money for unemployment benefits. Do you understand. Call the dummies in Tallahassee. This is Alice.

Thursday, 2:28 p.m.

This is Mary, a senior citizen who is very concerned. I and many others are concerned about this socialist president we have. I would like to know why won’t he disclose his birthplace. I have looked up in encyclopedias and history books and former presidents have been very proud of where they were born. So what in the world is wrong with this one and what cane be done. This is what I want to know.

Thursday, 2:13 p.m.

Yeah this is John. I heard something today that worries me. Congress passed a bill to extend unemployment benefits, but Florida will have trouble getting their’s. Is there any truth to that.
