Back-to-School Bash 2010
It was hot Saturday, but it was harder to say what was hotter – the weather or the Fourth Annual Back to School Bash hosted by Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and Covenant Church of God.
Through the efforts of the churches and several community groups and businesses over 1,800 bags of schools supplies and countless hot dogs along with sodas and bottles of water were handed out.
The three-hour event saw roughly 4,000 people turn out to visit the various displays and activities planned for the event.
Pensacola State College’s cosmetology department gave free haircuts while several other groups and organizations had displays for the community and showed their support for what has become an annual event.
Other major prizes given away were a boys and girls bike with helmets as well as a laptop computer.
