Feeding one's soul

Bluegrass music lovers can feed their soul once a month at the Pensacola State College in Milton.

On the fourth Saturday of each month, except in December, the Gulf Coast Bluegrass Music Association takes over the student affairs building for some picking and grinning. The concert is held the first Saturday in December due to the Christmas holidays

This past Saturday, they featured the music of the Wayfarers and Big River Bluegrass when things got underway at 6 p.m.

Many got to the concert early to take advantage of the dinner plates and refreshment offered by the PSC Alpha Beta Gamma Student Business Club.

Doors at PSC open 5 p.m. as refreshments are available and plenty of good seats.

During the performances this past Saturday it was standing room only in the student affairs center.

Non-members can get in the door for $5 each and members of the GCBMA can get in for $3.

Most nights include a jam session for players of all levels of ability.

Door prizes and a split the pot drawing are also part of the festivities.

For more information, call 623-3325 or check out their website at www.gcbma.com
