A head-on collision on Quintette Rd. Thursday sent four people to the hospital and tied up traffic for hours.

The crash happened at 1:37 p.m. when Bridget M. Allen, 31, Molino, crossed the centerline driving a 1994 Lincoln Towncar, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. Her vehicle struck a 2003 Toyota Corolla driven by Danielle T. Williams, 25, Pace.

Firefighters responded to the scene and worked on both vehicles to free the drivers, who were trapped. It took firefighters over 20 minutes to get Allen out of her car. Lifeflight landed nearby and took the woman once she was freed, to Sacred Heart Hospital in critical condition. Her children, Bailey Allen, 5; and Brooklynn Allen, 1; were taken by Lifeguard Ambulance to Sacred Heart Hospital. Bailey is listed in serious condition by FHP and Brooklynn is listed with minor injuries. Lifeguard Ambulance took Williams to Sacred Heart Hospital as well, listed in critical condition.

Traffic was backed up for miles in both directions. The Santa Rosa Sheriff's Office responded to help with traffic control. It took two hours before traffic was flowing again.

It is unknown if alcohol was factor in the accident, at this time. FHP continues to investigate. Charges are pending.
