Milton offensive lineman Kody Lunsford signed Wednesday to play for the University of West Alabama. Joining Lunsford is his father Tim and mother Sheila Johnson. Also on hand for the event were Milton principal Mike Thorpe, former Milton coach Tim Hendrix, Milton assistant coach Jason Summers and Milton athletic director Murray Rutledge.

National Signing Day ends with five signings, three in football

National signing day ended with five signing in Santa Rosa County.

Pace kicker-punter Greg Peranich signed a scholarship to attend Samford University in Birmingham, Ala., marking the first signing to a Division I school for Santa Rosa County.

Peranich, a three year kicker for the Patriots, also was a four year letterman on the Pace soccer team.

Later in the afternoon Jay's Rush Hendricks made it two Division-I players as he signed to be a tight end/fullback at the University of South Alabama.

Hendricks is a member of the Jaguars second recruiting class in the school's football history.

Milton's Kody Lunsford made it the third signing in the northern part of Santa Rosa County as he signed a scholarship to play for the Tigers of West Alabama.

Lunsford is a two year offensive line starter for the Panthers and since converting to the offensive side of the ball has played guard, tackle, center, and tight end at Milton High School.

Wednesday afternoon at Pace saw two more signings occur as two members of its District 1-5A Championship team signed soccer scholarships.

Alex Pickrell signed to play next season at UWF and Jessica Oram committed to play next season at South Alabama.
