Pensacola woman arrested after throwing baby to the ground
Escambia Sheriff's Officials offer the following details:
On 8.27.07, at 1:30 P.M., Deputies responded to a domestic dispute at 2600 Jackson Street. 26 yr old, Shavada Moultrie and, 25 yr old, Benjamin Sr., have a 5 month old child in common but do not live together.
Moultrie went to Benjamin's residence to drop off their child; however, she became angry that he was in the company of another woman.
According to witnesses, Moultrie exited the vehicle in which she was a passenger, and when confronting Christopher Benjamin Sr., she threw the couple’s 5 month old infant to the ground in a fit of rage and then attacked Benjamin Sr.
Christopher Benjamin Sr. picked up their child as Moultrie was hitting him and subsequently restrained Moultrie by grabbing her in an attempt to stop her from striking him.
"I had to step between the parents as Moultrie ran towards him and take Moultrie into custody as she appeared as though she was going to attack Sabrina Curtis," the officer noted.
EMS responded to the scene to care for any injuries. There were no substantial injuries which required treatment at this time.
Shavada Moultrie was booked into the Escambia County Jail, returnable to Circuit Court on 9/20/07 with no bond pending judicial review.
