NARFE meeting

The National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE), Chapter 917, will hold their regular monthly meeting tomorrow, Thursday, Dec. 3,, at 10:45 a.m. at Ryan’s Restaurant, Hwy. 90 in Pace. Our speaker will be Bob Shaw, representative from Blue Cross and Blue Shield. He will answer any questions on health insurance. All active or retired federal employees are invited to attend. Holiday parties Navarre Library

Friends of Navarre Library will hold two holiday parties at Navarre Library for adults and children the weekend of Dec. 18-19.

FONL will host its annual Holiday Covered Dish Luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18. Sign up at the Fran Roesch Bookstore to bring your favorite dish. Paper goods and beverages will be provided. Members also will conduct their annual election for officers.

At 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, the FONL will sponsor the Children's Christmas Party for youth ages preschool through fifth grade. Bringing gifts will be Santa Claus and some of his favorite elves. Refreshments will be served.

The Friends will “Deck the Halls” of the library for the holidays, with decorating starting at 8:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 4.

 

Needle Felting Class

Lorraine Cathey will teach needle felting at the Dragonfly Gallery from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Dec. 7. Cathey is an award-winning needle felting artist. A Milton resident, Cathey has taught many classes throughout the southeast.

The one-day class will cost $45, which includes all supplies needed.

To register, call the Gallery at 981-1100. Class size is limited, therefore preregistration is necessary. Participants are asked to bring a sack lunch.

The Dragonfly Gallery, 5188 Escambia Street in historic downtown Milton, is a mission of the Santa Rosa Arts and Culture Foundation. It is a juried gallery of local artists.
