A man's body was found Tuesday in the Blackwater River near Carpenter's Park after he went missing, according to Milton Police. Officers helped secure the scene in conjunction with Florida Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) officers.

Albert Adams' body was found after he attempted to swim to shore from a houseboat in Quinn Bayou, up Munson Highway from the park. He was identified at the scene by those searching for him, according to witnesses.

Milton Police Sgt. Brian Groenenboom said officers interviewed people at the scene while FWC officers handled the water investigation.

"The M.E.'s office came out, they will do their investigation while we do ours. We will know more when they get their results," Groenenboom said.

An update will be posted as more information becomes available.
