Lassiters' 50th wedding anniversary celebration

June and Almie Lee Lassiter of Jay will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 11, with a Renewal of Vows ceremony at Cobbtown Holiness Church, followed by a reception in the fellowship hall. Rev. Jim Lassiter will be officiating.

 A judge in the courthouse in Brewton, Ala., married the couple Dec. 23, 1961.  They met when both worked at Whiting Field, where Almie Lee continued to work until his retirement.  June worked at Whiting Field for five years and then went to Vanity Fair in Milton for 22 years until her retirement.  They courted for many years before tying the knot in 1961.

Mrs. Lassiter is the former Erie June Hall.  The couple has a large family with many nieces, nephews and family members, some from out of State who will be joining them to celebrate their special day.  

June and Almie Lee have lived in the Jay area all their lives and are active members of their community and their church.
