Jay Historical Society sets meeting date
The Jay Historical Society will meet Thursday, February 11, at the Jay City Hall, beginning at 6 p.m.
Guest speakers will be Radford (Chubby) Locklin and Malcom Ried, who is of the Indian heritage. They will present a program on “Tributaries of the Blackwater.”
The last meeting of the Jay Historical Society brought out 54 people. Membership is growing.
The new roof has been put on the old 5&10 Store, located on Commerce Street. Repairs are now being made to the interior of the building. Maybe it won’t be too long before the building is ready for use. The building will be nice for the Historical Society’s Museum. All of you that are interested in preserving the history of Jay should come on out to this meeting.
Huge Church Yard Sale
Mount Carmel United Methodist Church will hold a huge Yard Sale today, beginning at 7 a.m. and will last until 1 p.m. Proceeds from this sale will go to the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. Everyone go and support them!
