3rd Annual Navarre Beach Fall Festival of the Arts Offers Artists, Crafters, Food, Fun and a Full Weekend of Entertainment
The 3rd Fall Festival of the Arts will be held at Navarre Beach on Oct. 10, 11, and 12. Coordinated by the Greater Navarre Beach Arts Assoc. (GNBAA), this festival has been successful in attracting talented local artists, professional crafters, food vendors, businesses and great entertainment for a weekend event with activities for the whole family.
Starting with our lively ‘Latin Night’ on Oct. 10, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., and featuring Navarre’s popular “international entertainer” – “Dalena” from 8 to 10 pm, several special guest singers, then Vasco Milord, well-known DJ with all the latest Latin hits to dance the night away. “Our ‘Noche Latina’ is a unique event for all of the Latin, and Latin – spirited residents of the N. Florida Panhandle,” said David Triana, coordinator for the event. “This year will be a great show with music, singing and dancers on the stage.”
The Artist’s Market opens on Saturday morning at 10 am. “We have between 70 -80 artists signed up,” said John Branning, Artist Market Coordinator. Saturday afternoon will feature our local church and school groups performing on the GNBAA stage. Saturday evening music includes, the Donors, and then the popular Pensacola group, “A Touch of Gray”, will liven up the evening with their own renditions of 50’s, 60’s and 70’s Rock. From Elvis to the Beatles, to your Motown favorites, this group will have you up and dancing to the music. The closing band, Retorik, has a new rock/metal sound.
We focus on Children’s Art Activities to have our children experience art in a fun way and have a finished art project to take with them. This year we will be offering five easy activities plus a “Touch Tank” from the marine science department at Navarre High School. From ‘little ones’ to teens – we have activities they will enjoy.
Oct. 12, starts with the First Baptist Church, Navarre, beach service starting at 10 a.m. and everyone is welcome. They have great music as well. The Artist’s Market opens afterwards, and a special concert by the University of West Florida Symphony is scheduled for the afternoon. Bring your beach chairs and enjoy the music, great food and fun.
Caring & Sharing of South Santa Rosa County will be accepting donations of food at the GNBAA tent. We are requesting that people bring canned goods, packaged goods and non-perishable food stuffs that are not expired, and donate them. This will help restock the shelves for Caring & Sharing efforts throughout the year.
The festival will again be located in the public parking lot for Navarre Beach Pier. There is easy access for visitors with parking adjacent to the festival grounds and in the new park area. Go across the Navarre Bridge and look for the tents, you can’t miss it!
