Clerk's Office laying off 10 employees

According to Santa Rosa County Clerk of Court Mary Johnson, the clerk's office has laid off 10 employees.

The employees laid off include seven full-time employees and three students.

Johnson was very emotional while discussing the lay offs.

"We are having to lay off...due to budget cuts. These are wonderful people...hard workers and this is so hard. They have all been gracious and kind to me and they know it is necessary," says Johnson.

Johnson's voice cracked and she began to sob as she discussed losing her employees.

"It's just hard...None of them are laid off for cause...I don't know what else to say. They were kind people and it is just so hard," Johnson says.
