Locklin Tech holds Skills USA competition
Career and Technical students enrolled in Applied Welding Technology; Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology; and Residential Electricity programs from around the region competed in the Skills USA competition on February 26th. Competitions were held at Locklin Tech in Milton; Pensacola Junior College, Warrington Campus; and Washington-Holmes Technical Center. Students from Locklin Tech (LT), Washington-Holmes Technical Center (WHTC), Gadsden Technical Institute (GTI), and Pensacola Junior College (PJC) competed in the hands-on and knowledge-based competition.
Winners in the Applied Welding Technology competition were: (Adult) - Scott Cargine - 1st place (LT); Chaz Scott - 2nd place (WHTC); Daniel Madden - 3rd place (LT). (High School) - Carrie Patachick - 1st place (GTI); Chris Steele - 2nd place (LT); Codie Thompson - 3rd place (LT).
Winners in the Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology were: (Adult) – Derek Hohenberger – 1st place (LT); Ronald Williams – 2nd place (PJC); Booker Alexander – 3rd place (LT).
Winners in the Residential Electricity competition were: (Adult) - Shawn Schomer - 1st place (LT); 2nd place (WHTC); Kyle Cooley - 3rd place (LT). (High School) - Stephen Rapoza – 1st place (LT); Jeremy McGee – 2nd place (LT); Cody Panzik - 3rd place (LT). Industrial Motor Controls – (Adult) Robert Snyderburn 1st place (LT).
