Remembering Lt. Clinton Wermers

A memorial service for U.S. Navy Lt. Clinton Wermers was held Monday at 11:00 at Whiting Field.  Lt. Wermers was flying a T-34 turbo with a student over Lake Pontchartrain in Louisiana on Jan. 23, when it went down.  The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Lt. Wermers, 33, of Mitchelll S.D. leaves behind two daughters ages two and four, and his wife who is expecting a third child. 

As part of a volunteer effort led by divers, Lt. Wermers body was found shortly after 1 a.m. Jan. 27 near the crash site.  The cause of Lt. Wermers’ death is still under investigation. 

A trust fund has been established for the Wermers family.  Those interested in contributing can do via the Air Warrior Courage Foundation at www.AirWarriorCourage.org.  Contrubutors are asked to reference the Wermers Family when making a donation.
