Immanuel members serve in W. Va
There are 21 members of our College and Career Department from Immanuel Baptist Church who are serving this week as missionaries in West Virginia. The Florida Baptist Convention has a partnership with the West Virginia Baptist State Convention. This means we offer resources, State Convention personnel and encourage Florida Baptist churches to send mission teams to assist churches there. Our mission team will be doing canvassing, personal witnessing and Vacation Bible School in one of their churches.
Immanuel is hosting families from Family Promise on our campus this week. These families need housing and food during a difficult time in their lives. Several churches from various denominations participate in this ministry.
Normally a church will host different families four times a year. We are delighted that we have the opportunity to assist these people at a time when they have this need. These people usually have jobs. Churches just provide housing and meals during this time.
The building that was used for a number of years for worship has now being converted into our Activities Building. Although it is used primarily for Immanuel activities, we do offer it to organizations in the community that needs a place to assemble. An example of this is approximately 40 people from Sacred Heart Hospital Branch in Pace is using it for their meeting. If you have such a need, I would encourage you to call the church office (994-4615) to inquire about it. There are qualifications that must be met and guidelines to follow.
Exciting things continue to happen at Immanuel. We are having people join our church almost every Sunday.
People from outside our church membership are attending the series WHAT IN THE WORLD IS GOING ON by Dr. David Jeremiah. This presentation is every Sunday evening at 5 o’clock. The month of August is filled with planned ministries and activities. I am encouraging you to come and join with us in our worship every Sunday.
We shall be observing Baptism and the Lord’s Supper on Sunday morning, Aug. 2nd beginning at 10:30.
