Biggs found guilty on drug charges
A Milton woman was found guilty on 10 drug related charges Wednesday in Santa Rosa County.
Cynthia Lee Biggs was found guilty on seven counts of trafficking in hydrocodone and three counts of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud.
Biggs, 48, called in fraudulent prescriptions of hydrocodone, carisoprodol and clonazepam to Adams Pharmacy on Highway 90 between Oct. 2005 and July 2006.
During that time Biggs was employed as a receptionist at a local physician’s office.
Biggs was arrested back on Nov. 9, 2006 by the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office.
Her husband, Bobby Darrell Biggs, would pick up the fraudulent prescriptions from the pharmacy.
Back on July 8, 2009, Bobby Biggs was convicted on two count of trafficking in hydrocodone and five counts of obtaining drugs by fraud and was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
Cynthia Biggs is scheduled for sentencing before Santa Rosa Circuit Judge Thomas Santurri on Dec. 17.
She faces the possibility of 225 years in prison if she receives the maximum., including a minimum mandatory 25-years prison sentence for the trafficking charges.
The arrest and investigation were conducted by the Santa Rosa Sheriff’s Office.
