Bluegrass – an American original
Each month the Gulf Coast Bluegrass Music Association (GCBMA) holds concerts at the Pensacola Junior College campus in Milton.
The GCBMA which started in Pace in 1993 to bring more bluegrass music to northwest Florida and southern Alabama features 500 members and 24 member bands stretching from Panama City, Fla., to Diamond Head, Miss.
Concerts are held the fourth Saturday of each month with the doors opening at 5 p.m. and concerts getting underway at 6 p.m. and a jam session going from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Some of the local bands who are members of the GCBMA are Bubba and Them (Pensacola), High Cotton (Milton), Rowell Bluegrass Band (Milton), Southern Sounds (Pensacola), TruGrass (Pensacola), and the White Sands Panhandle Band (Pensacola).
Each month two different bands are featured and play a wide variety of Bluegrass music.
As a member of the GCBMA, you will be kept up to date on various concerts and jam sessions involving Bluegrass Music.
